On September 10th, 2010 was an experience day of adventures, funs, breathtaking and amazing astonished day - it was the journey to OST East.
The OCT (Overseas Chinese Town) East is located in Dameisha, Shenzhen. It is the national ecological tourism demonstration district and the international tourism destination, at an investment of 3.5 billion Yuan by the OCT group.
It is a combination of two large theme parks – The Ecoventure Valley and The Tea Stream Resort Valley, four resort hotels, three small scenic towns, two 18-hole golf courses, Hua Xing Temple, Tianlu mansion and more covering an area of 9 square kilometers. It’s gigantic huge!
Their intention is clear, they’ve built a one stop destination for holiday experience. Packed into one big location is the adventure, excitement, wonder and eye-opening sights matched together with comfort and relaxation.

We were 9 persons in 2 cars heading to the OCT East from downtown of Shenzhen city. We got lost somewhere near the location, but finally we arrived before noon. There are several spot of parking lots available over there, we decided to go upper where we started the day at a garden toward the mountain top.
On the way to the peak, there are several interesting stops to rest and relax, gift shops, food stalls and even street performing shows. The one that caught my attention was the viewing tower which i guessed about 35 meters height. Unfortunately, it closed during that day - perhaps because lack of visitors and the site manager decided not to operate it.
Up the mountain, we are welcomed by a thick misty haze. And the cloud became darker and windy. The summit is breathtaking. Although it started to rain, I finished the walk.
At the top is long walk bridge providing a view of the valley below. At one side there is a viewing deck with glass floor viewing platform which extends out from the mountain – like a floating shelf (the red-orange colour at the top left of my picture below). In the distance you can see the mountainous coastline that makes up Hong Kong, the massive Shenzhen shipyard, and a number of gigantic ships. On a clear or even slightly misty day this view is incredible.
Further along is disc thing with 360 degree seating which list up another 100 meters into the clouds!
The photo below was taken after the rain stopped. I'm using Canon EOS 550D with Tamron AF 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC at ISO 100, f/9, 1/80 and focal length 21mm. The photos was combined from 3 other photos and cropped using Photoshop.
