I was cleaning up my photos library when I found this photo. It was my 2008 trip with my whole family to Penang Island - is part of the state of Penang, on the west coat of Peninsular Malaysia. It was named Prince of Wales Island when it was occupied by the British East India Company on 12 August 1786, in honour of the birthday of the Prince of Wales, later King George IV. The capital, George Town, was named after the reigning King George III.
This photo was taken on a ferry heading to Butterworth - the principal town of Seberang Perai in the state of Penang. Butterworth ferry service is also provided cars crossing Malacca Straits services to Penang, George Town besides, Penang Bridge. The motorists can save their car petrol with using ferry to Penang and even skipping off traffic jams going on on the Penang Bridge. Majority of motorists crossing Penang with using ferry are motorcyclists. Ferry services are very convenient to take motorcyclist to jump off the 13.5 kilometres long and busy bridge.
I was arrived early in the morning at port, maybe it was the first ferry across trip. I chose the upper deck for sight viewing. It was 06:57 AM when I made the shot - the beautiful sun shine create the glare through my lens, my son and my nephew silhouette made the perfect composition, and also the shadow of the gate create the artistic scene. I was using the Panasonic DMC-FZ18 at ISO 100, focal length 8.8 mm, f/7.1 and 1/500 speed.
